Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Indiana is pleased to announce we have hired Chandra (Channy) M. Beck as our Child Enrollment Coordinator.
Chandra recently joined the staff in April 2022 as Child Enrollment Coordinator and brings a lot of passion to her new role. Her job responsibilities include interviewing potential Littles and their parents and working closely with other members of the staff to help establish matches. She is from Earlington, Kentucky. She attended the University of Southern Indiana. “I’ve always wanted to work in a position where I can be part of a group that supports and helps within our community. I now have the ability to simultaneously work in both of my passions, helping animals, and children,” says Chandra. Chandra can be open to new experiences, empathetic, and honest. Growing up she wanted to be a marine biologist or motocross racer. Her favorite kids’ movie is Big Hero 6. She loves watching Hitch and Jurassic Park. Her favorite food is Italian. Her favorite quote is: “Two things define you: Your patience when you have nothing and your attitude when you have everything.” She loves seeing her daughters succeed in what they love to do and is happiest on adventures with her family, exploring new cities, hiking, and trying new restaurants.
“Children are our future, and one of the purest and most honest individuals you could ever meet. Want to know if your outfit looks good, or if your speech is boring? Ask a child, they will answer without any inhibitions,” she says.
