Meet Anna Gray, one of our amazing board members here at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Indiana. Anna is originally from St. Joseph, Michigan, but moved to Newburgh, Indiana, when she was eight years old. She went to Castle High School and after graduating
attended Vincennes University. She works as the Public Information Officer for the Evansville Police Department and is also a sergeant.
She is serving on the board because she loves to be involved and connected in the community. She was involved with the Bigs with Badges program and enjoyed it so much. She wanted to get more involved from there and continue to give back.
“Kids are important because they have so many talents and skills,” says Anna. “If they learn to tap into those talents, not only can they give back to their community when they are adults, but they can also become leaders. It is our job as adults to make them understand their talents, teach them how to give back to the community, and to not be afraid to work hard to become successful.”
Three traits that would define Anna are loyal, compassionate, and dedicated. When she was 10, she wanted to be a veterinarian and loves animals. It is her passion to help animals in need. In her free time, she loves walking her dogs, hiking on nature trails, and collecting seashells.
Her favorite food is cheese pizza and her favorite movies are Christmas Vacation and Thor. Her favorite kids’ movies are The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. Her favorite quote is from Walt Disney: “If you can dream it, you can do it."
Please welcome Anna Gray to the board!
Our Board of Directors are some of the largest advocates and supporters of our organization. We are grateful for an engaged Board of Directors who are committed to our vision for all children to achieve success in life.
