Meet Big Sister Audrey! Audrey enrolled in our community based program in Posey County because she wanted to contribute to her community as well as being the perfect fit for her because she loves spending time with kids! Audrey has a lot of background working in youth serving organizations, Like Youth First, and thought Big Brothers Big Sisters would be a great way to get involved.
Audrey was matched in March of this year to Little Sister Mackenzie. The two hit things off from the start by their common love of dogs and math! While meeting one another for the first time, you couldn’t help but smile from their energetic enthusiasm and the lots of giggles that were shared with one another. The two get together every other weekend trying new things such as visiting the aquarium, eating Chinese, painting at Fired Up, and most recently swinging on Audrey’s tire swing! At the end of each match outing Mackenzie and Audrey take photos and write cards about what they did, what they learned, and their favorite part! Check out some of their adventures.
When asked what she likes most about her Big Sister, Mackenzie stated that “Audrey is nice and she likes doing things with her.” Mackenzie loves spending time with her Big Sister and looks forward to their outings! Chelsey, Mackenzie’s guardian, is appreciative of Audrey and enjoys “that her daughter has someone she can hang out with and how easy their relationship has formed.” Chelsey then added that “Audrey is consistent and communicates great with her.”
